In a world where game development costs approach $0 and the number of games proliferates from thousands to millions, two things will matter: 1. What your friends are playing. 2. Playing with your friends. Long Discord as a product and an ads business in this environment.

Impeccable vibes at our @a16z consumer dinner tonight ✨ I’ve been investing in consumer for a decade, and I believe we’re now at the beginning of a renaissance. There are going to be some category-defining companies built in the next few years!

It was an honor to bring two chapters of my life together with Meta's Muse Spark coming to Apple's Mac Studio. I hope folks enjoy it.

Loved reading this. It aligns so closely with my thesis on our personal lives: as AI becomes more embedded in everything we do, belonging and human connection will become increasingly valuable. And agents can actually help us get there. For businesses, I see a similar dynamic playing out. At the top of the funnel, agents will increasingly handle logistics, discovery, and helping us navigate the unfamiliar. But when it comes to building deeper connections with brands, I believe the human layer will become even more important. We’ll see more IRL creators and influencers bringing communities together, creating shared experiences, and turning digital discovery into real-world connection. Agents can facilitate and amplify that process. Perhaps one of the most positive ways to think about an AI-first world is to ask not just what AI can do for us, but what it means to be human in a world where so much can be automated.
