paying an artist is usually cheaper than people think

Came across a discussion on Reddit where everyone agreed $800 was an "insane" charge for an art commission. I know I've paid a *lot* more than that in the past for a quality digital piece. Do people just expect artists to work for poverty wages now?

Serious question for game devs and players: At what point does AI use actually become a dealbreaker for you? Code assistance? Placeholder art? Voice? Final game assets? Marketing material? Because “AI was used” has become such a broad accusation that it can mean almost anything now.

Steam should require disclosure if you used a game engine. I want to know if you're really a game developer or just a lazy guy using other people's code.
