I’ve been thinking about how much of my career has been shaped by wanting to get closer to the actual act of building. I started in marketing and go-to-market, where a lot of my work was around understanding products, finding their story, and helping other people see why they mattered. Over time, I became increasingly curious about the decisions behind the story, which took me into product management and 0-1 building, and now into building AI-first products, hands-on with models, agents, and workflows. It's never been a linear motion, but each part has given me something I use in the next. Teaching + training also kept showing up throughout this journey, much before I thought of it as something I'd intentionally do. It started with training partners and running communities, and later became educative cohorts, workshops, mentoring founders, and co-building with product and engineering teams. Having worked across product, product marketing, positioning, and go-to-market, I found myself having many conversations with early-stage founders about what should come before the build: where AI fits in the product, which use case is worth starting with, and how the product should be taken to market once it works. Knowing how LLMs work, where they are likely to fail, and how to bring our own product judgment into the system matters much more than getting to the first demo quickly. When I look back, building, training, and advisory do not feel like three different directions. They are all different parts of helping someone move from an idea about AI to something useful that they understand well enough to keep shaping. So I put together a small space for this work: "Build with AIsh" My focus with it is quite simple. I want to build alongside more people and teams and help them leave with something that runs reliably. I also want to train people through the act of building, so that the outcome is not only one working workflow, but the ability to build the next one from scratch. For startups that are still deciding what to build, I can also come in earlier and work through the product, positioning, and go-to-market questions around that first AI bet. Maybe this is what emergence looks like in my own journey. The shape keeps changing, but the work I enjoy keeps becoming clearer and bigger.
