🚨🏁Today I'm unveiling http://FinalLap.com, the collector car auction platform I’m building. In a way it's not a marketplace at all. It's a weekly show. Let me explain. Remember HQ Trivia? Everyone opening their phone at the same minute for the same thing. That's the feeling we're after, except the prize is a 911. Here's how it works: Cars get announced ahead of time. Full listing pages, photos, docs, history, questions answered. Same homework buyers already do. You just can't bid yet. The whole thing happens online, in the app. Phone or laptop, wherever you are. We go live every Friday at 1PM ET and every car runs through the online auction back to back, a few minutes each, until they're gone. A late bid adds time, so nothing gets sniped at the buzzer. The current industry standard is Bring a Trailer and Cars & Bids. On both, listings start and end all day, every day. Attention gets split across hundreds of cars at once. Your auction might end on a Sunday. Or the 4th of July. You just hope people are around. And on a 5 day auction, everyone knows all the bidding action will happen in the last five minutes anyway. We're doing something different. Sequential lots that mimic a live in-person auction. In-person auctions are so fun. You come to see what a rare Ferrari goes for, but you'll happily sit through cars you'd never have sought out, because it's fast paced. Every car gets maximum eyeballs. It's way more entertaining. We're gathering the first lineup of cars now. We're meeting with dealers and putting together some special offers for them behind the scenes.
