No one is doing AI Transformation. The gap between what is possible and what is actually happening has never been wider.
When we started Varick we weren't sure this industry would exist in 2 years. Now we're sure it will be here for decades.
There are many "Applied AI" and "AI Transformation" firms, but most of them sell:
- skill files
- some Claude jobs
- prompting workshops
That isn't AI Transformation. AI Transformation is:
- redesigning an organization based on AI's capabilities
- agent-ifying each workflow in a department, primarily running in the background
- HITL so agents improve themselves, with auditability, governance and evals built in
I don't blame the first group. It's quick cash, easier work, and doesn't need the best people in the industry. But it also barely scratches the surface, and most companies are none the wiser.
Varick is doing the second. We're not here to "apply AI" for a week and take short-term wins. We're here to drive billions in value. That is only possible by going deep, redesigning processes, and building custom agents on a company's own systems of record and workflows.
We're hiring in SF. You should:
- have 1+ years in startups / PE / banking / consulting (long hours, real stakeholder management)
- build with AI every day (GitHub is green, with several tasteful projects, not just wrappers)
- want to be in this market (a $30T market that we're taking the lead in)
